Badness played at HM Prison 'Wormwood Scrubs'.  The most famous set of prison gates in the UK. Used in the 'Italian Job', Michael Caine was seen walking out from these gates in the film.

The train robbers escaped from here too in '63 we believe.  On the reverse of the postcard it reads:

September 1999

The first entry to the page is of our visit to Germany.  We where invited to play at the 8th Army HQ. {The Desert Rats} near Hannover. What we didn't realize at the time that the camp is in Bergen -Belsen, half a mile away from the concentration camp. We played in "The Round House" which was the SS Headquarters for the camp, strange stuff. Here's a few of the snaps we took.

The wierd thing was that there was no breeze inside the camp and no animals, no birds, an eerie stillness like nothing I've experienced before.stillness like nothing I've experienced before.

Margot and Ann Frank died at Belsen.

Here is their grave stone.

And lastly there is a rebuilding of part of the camp taking place and some excavation work has been done. In a small clearing in the woods we came across this, a rusting German Soldiers helmet tied to a wire mesh along with other artifacts such as sardine tins and bottle tops and hand wash bowls.

The most remarkable thing was that when we left the camp and returned to the car park, we noticed that we could hear bird song again, the camp grounds where silent!

The work load was hard as they performed three one hour sets every night of their 21 night stay. I was told in confidence that their bar bill alone was around £1000. Old habits die hard!1000. Old habits die hard!

The King Soloman Hotel. As you can see the Band have to put up with the hardships of being on the road. A luxury 5 Star hotel and everything was FREE! WOW..........
